On the 11th November 1965 a meeting was held at the White Swan Public House in Barton upon Humber of people interested in forming a new Bowling Club. Following this meeting our Club was formed in South Ferriby and named Eastwood’s Bowling Club after the company who operated the cement production plant in the village.

The initial membership fee for our Club was set at 10 shillings. The cement company provided the land and constructed a bowling green for the new Club to play from and it has continued to operate from this venue until the present day. In 1962 Eastwood’s Bowls Club changed to Rugby Cement and then in 2007 it changed its present name to Cemex South Ferriby Bowls Club due to changes of ownership of the cement production company.

Today Cemex Bowls Club boasts a talented, committed and Social group of members that strives to promote the game to everyone. The Club has approximately 40 members and competes in the Scunthorpe and District Bowls League. We also have teams in the Humberside Triples, Barnetby and District league.

Our Club has had and continues to have regular successes at Local, County and National levels along with having provided from its own ranks the Humberside County and National Presidents.

Cemex Bowls Club see the youth of the club as the future this is why we pride ourselves in helping the young ones to develop and improve their bowling careers, we only have to look back to 2016 when we saw one of our young players become Humberside County Lady President.

Although the Club is comparatively new compared to most in the area the members have established Cemex South Ferriby Bowls Club as a friendly, Sociable, forward looking and extremely successful Club.
